The Scoop

Jacob and I met in San Diego, California in 2007. He was a member of the United States Marine Corps, stationed at Camp Pendleton, and I was a student at San Diego State University. Jacob was the epitome of Good Ol Boy, patriotic, conservative, and of course stubborn. I was California, through and through, and flip flopped from mild hippy to high heels and oversized shades, depending on my mood. The whole “opposites attract” title didn’t come close to labeling our drastic differences. Yet, we somehow complimented each other from day one, and here we are three years later with a beautiful baby boy, Gentry, and a new house smack dab in the middle of America.



During my pregnancy I experimented with lots of DIY projects as well as cooking and baking. I figured if I was going to live amongst all the Marthas and Paulas of the world I’d better get some skills. There have been many recipes Jacob has deemed inedible (I’m forever grateful he strategically blames the recipes and not me), and lots of diy projects that have ended up crumpled in the garbage from frustration.


So as I stumble along the path to becoming a Fabulous Mom/Wife, I invite you to enjoy the laughs, frustrations, triumphs and failures. I still have the high heels, although they’re rarely worn, and I will forever embrace the mild hippy within, but I am now a Midwestern Mama, enjoying Life and Love in the Boro…
